So here in our little town of Liberty Lake there is an annual day for all of the residents to sell all of their old junk. A city wide yard sale!!
Travis and I didn't know how big of a deal this was. We had a list of things that we were going to look for and we had prepared ourselves to know what prices would be reasonable for things. The day came and we got up early and headed out to the streets. Before we knew it we ran into tons, and I meant tons of people in the streets. There were sales everywhere. The first area we looked at was an area with newer homes and most of the stuff was for babies. So we moved on to the older area where people had lived in their houses longer and had collected lots of goodies. We saw lots of things but nothing that we were looking for. I saw tons of cool furniture that I would have loved to refinish...I kept telling Travis "this would look amazing if you just painted it" I am sure he got tired of me telling him that.
I did find an awesome lamp that I will need a new shade. I can't wait to add it into our apartment. Some people might think its ugly but it really has a lot of potential.
Later in the day we headed over to our local farmer's market and picked up a few goodies.
It was a great Saturday in our little town.

Memorial Day...a Mission to Find the SUN
Over Memorial Day, we decided to try whatever we could to find the sun. We started the weekend out at Deer Lake. We didn't expect sun here but thought we would like relaxing at the lake for a night. It was an interesting evening with my grandparents and one of their friends from church. We didn't really get along well with their friend as she wasn't very nice to my grandma, but we pulled through and were able to enjoy the next day. Travis even got to fish while my grandma and I picked weeds.
Sunday afternoon we headed to the Tricities, truly in hopes of finding some sun. On our way we stopped at Palouse Falls. I had been there before with my grandparents when I was a child, but I had never been there this early in the year. The water is really high and brown due to the high drainage off the mountains.
We noticed that there are a lot of really good looking hikes out by the fall and we decided we have to come back and spend a whole day there...maybe in the summer when the water isn't so crazy deadly.
When we arrived in Kennewick it was cloudy and it started to rain. Sun Mission failed, so far.
We stayed with some friends, Steve and Monica. They were so kind to use and Monica is a great cook. She made us feel so welcome and gave us the best food. Next day we actually found a bit of sun and headed over to a local park to enjoy the day.
We had a great weekend and we actually completed our mission to find the sun. Yea!! Now back to work.
I don't have a good picture of him actually fishing, just setting everything up.
This is what the falls look like throughout the year. It really changes a lot.
Not a good sign!
This is as close as we could get.

Easter Plus the Temple on the Side
Saturday before Easter Travis and I were sealed in the temple. It was a great occasion and all of his family came to Liberty Lake to support and celebrate.
Here are some pictures from the momentous day...
That evening all of us got together at Travis' families hotel to swim, watch basketball, play games and eat lots of pizza.
The next day was Easter and we headed to church. It was really a great sacrament meeting. After church we met together at our apartment (we fit so many people into our small place) and had some amazing ham and other great fixings. A delicious Easter meal. We may not have had enough chairs for everyone but it was nice just to be together.

It took over six tries to get a picture of our four nieces with semi-normal looks on their faces. Hilarious!!
After Travis' family left we headed over to my aunt's house for even more Easter food. I sure didn't eat much more. It was a great Easter filled with lots of love with both families. We truly had a blessed Easter!
What an Update...
So, throughout the last 5 months I have been terrible at keeping this thing up to date and then yesterday I felt the desire to blog. However blogger wouldn't let me post anything!! Thankfully today I still have that blogging desire.
March was filled with tons of birthdays. Those included Travis' (see prior post), my dad's and my brother's. My brother's birthday party was star wars themed with the dairy queen cake and matching table clothe and napkins all with star wars characters. It reminded me that you're never too old to have themed birthday parties, even when your in your thirties.
April was momentous, as my mother turned the HUGE 5-0! Old! I made the decorations for her birthday party and I loved it. She loved it too since I didn't make everything black. We had a great family dinner and then had all of her friends over for dessert. It really was a great celebration. I was pretty sick that day so once cake was passed out I headed home to rest. There were so many people there that I don't think I was even missed.
Also in April Travis and I were sealed in the Temple. It was amazing. Travis' whole family was able to come to Liberty Lake and stay with us for the weekend, which was also Easter weekend.
Overall we have been working and celebrating those simple life moments that make everything worth while.

Baking and Crafting
Really baking and crafting are two of the best things on earth. I was inspired to bake some cookies one Thursday afternoon when I was home alone. So I made some cake cookies.
While I was baking, I noticed a few gifts from the nieces that were just visiting us over the weekend for Easter.
A few days later I found some more prints on our slider door. I also found an Easter egg filled with chocolate goodies in our couch. The BEST find ever!!
I have been seeing ideas for ways to store necklaces on some blogs and I finally decided to use some picture frames I haven't been using. See what I created out of wire fencing and some frames.
I love having all of my necklaces out in front of me and just ready for me to wear.
I also created some spring flowers for out door wreath, but I don't have pictures of it. : (
Can't wait to get crafting some more!

Say goodbye to your twenties!
Travis turned 29!!! March 8th was Travis' birthday and we were actually able to really celebrate his birthday this year. In the past we had boards or finals during the week of his birthday so we were never able to really enjoy his birthday. This time we went out for Mexican food with my parents. They gave him money for waders and a small helicopter. Check him out playing with his new 'copter...
I gave him basketball shoes and made him mexi-spaghetti! Yummy. He had the day off from work and was able to relax and enjoy the whole day.
New Shoes!! |
I love you Travis, even though you are getting old! Can't wait for next year when you will be the big 3-0.

We Made it a YEAR!!
Yo Yo...People might say this is a miracle, but we made it an entire year being married. Actually it wasn't that bad...it was fun, exciting, and filled with the regular emotional ups and downs or married life. Throughout the year we had to attend grad school, take national board exams, and eventually we graduated from Chiropractic school. We ARE Doctors now! We also had to find jobs and managed to do so in the Spokane area. We also lived with my parents for 2 months. Strange but it had to be done...really it wasn't that bad. We also moved again, but this move was much easier than from Portland to Spokane. That one was the worst. We almost lost our trailer carrying our car hitched to our Uhaul and then later on the freeway our bicycles fell off of the car on the trailer. It was a crazy adventure but even as I type it I snicker because it was just so crazy that all I can do is laugh.
This move we had lots of help from family and friends including Jason Nichols and Hanh and Jared. They were such a blessing.
Anyways, it has been a great year. Here are some pictures throughout the year in some of the random places that have gone.
We spent our anniversary shopping for shoes at the mall (my treat), watching True Grit in Coeur d' Alene with popcorn!! (Travis never lets me get popcorn. Well its not that he doesn't let me, its just he never wants to buy it. It actually wasn't very good and makes me not want any for a long time), then we had STEAK at the Wolf Lodge. Yummy! The meat was good but the rest of the food was not so great. It wasn't the best meal ever but we did have the best company either of us could ask for.
Here's to many more years!!!
