We Made it a YEAR!!

Yo Yo...People might say this is a miracle, but we made it an entire year being married.  Actually it wasn't that bad...it was fun, exciting, and filled with the regular emotional ups and downs or married life. Throughout the year we had to attend grad school, take national board exams, and eventually we graduated from Chiropractic school. We ARE Doctors now! We also had to find jobs and managed to do so in the Spokane area. We also lived with my parents for 2 months. Strange but it had to be done...really it wasn't that bad. We also moved again, but this move was much easier than from Portland to Spokane. That one was the worst. We almost lost our trailer carrying our car hitched to our Uhaul and then later on the freeway our bicycles fell off of the car on the trailer. It was a crazy adventure but even as I type it I snicker because it was just so crazy that all I can do is laugh.

This move we had lots of help from family and friends including Jason Nichols and Hanh and Jared. They were such a blessing.

Anyways, it has been a great year. Here are some pictures throughout the year in some of the random places that have gone.

We spent our anniversary shopping for shoes at the mall (my treat), watching True Grit in Coeur d' Alene with popcorn!! (Travis never lets me get popcorn. Well its not that he doesn't let me, its just he never wants to buy it. It actually wasn't very good and makes me not want any for a long time), then we had STEAK at the Wolf Lodge. Yummy! The meat was good but the rest of the food was not so great. It wasn't the best meal ever but we did have the best company either of us could ask for.

Here's to many more years!!!

Holidays!!!

Christmas...it was quite different this year. It was our first Christmas being married and we moved into a new apartment just before the big day. We did have a tree. Ha...I made one of our fake trees into our Christmas tree. It was actually really sad and ugly, but it worked.

Ha Ha... here is a close up of some ornaments

Hopefully next year we will have an actual tree. We ended up staying in Spokane. We went to my parents for Christmas Eve and ate a ton of crab and then opened presents from my parents. It was a wonderful evening filled with lots of laughs. On Christmas we went to my brother's house for dinner in which I made a huge carrot cake. It was good but way too much of it. We had a good time eatting dinner and enjoying time with family. We also got to watch the Nativity story and Despicable Me. Overall, Christmas was different than any we have had before. I am excited for us to make new traditions.

And on to New Years...

We drove through the nasty snow filled Blue Mountains to Boise for New Years. Travis' brother lives in Boise and they just had a cute baby girl who was to be blessed on New Years day. We stayed with them from Thursday through Sunday with Travis' parents also. We played games, watched a crazy movie that Travis recommended, ate pizza, watched some football, and laughed. It was a great weekend trip.

After all of the holidays and moving I think Travis and I felt the same way...
We were tired and ready to spend some time at home not unpacking or visiting people, but just resting at home getting use to our new life.
